Dawn’s answers on a few questions we had.
Q: I remember Dennis mentioned that the front porch step concrete pouring would happen last week. The weather is getting cold. I just checked the weather. We wouldn’t have another frozen weather in next few days. Hope the concrete can be poured soon, so the cold weather won’t damage the wet concrete.
A: Waiting on front door to be delivered & installed, then stoop will be poured
Q: Also, how is the progress of the electricity installation? Do we need to do anything to call electricity company? We already got the 400A meter base. Hope the after frame stage can be as fast as well. With the Thanksgiving in November and Christmas in December. We hope we can get things done as early as possible.
A: Once the meter base has been inspected by the county, I’ll notify you to contact Dominion to inform them of such
Q: We already contact the Propane company. What is the detail requirement of propane? 100 gallons?
A: Yes 100 gallon tank – I’ll let you know when to schedule delivery
Q: I also heard from a friend in construction business to warn me that don’t put on carpet and hardwood floor if the polywood still contains some moisture. Many new building’s polywood got wet in rain and some moisture still kept in polywood, and then the hardwood and carpet were put on. The floor would have problem within 2 – 3 years. Hope the propane can dry the polywood as well.
A: Flooring contractor measures humidity before hardwood installation as they are the ones that have to warranty it – they wouldn’t install it if it was going to affect the hardwood/warranty
Q: Also, would you please provide us some recommendation about the drive way contractors and grass sod contractors?
A: Concrete:
Builders Choice Concrete (540) 891-0900
Super Concrete (703) 368-9171
Asphalt:
Tibbs Paving (703) 330-1789
Landscaping:

Green Sun (703) 926-5086
Start to install the siding.
Propane Supplier
I called Thompson Gas today to set up the account. The call was transferred to Shannon. She seemed very familiar with NDI. She said since this is a temporarily set up, there will be no set up fee. We just need to open the account and call them in one week advanced to schedule the installation.
The cost would be $2.549 per gallon. The delivery fee would be $9.98 + $3.99 = $13.97. As NDI requested, they will deliver 100 gallon propane. They will not refund if there are left over. If 100 gallon propane is not enough, we can call for refill. The minimum refill is 50 gallon.

Dawn sent an email. As temperatures will soon be dipping down below freezing, we need you to go ahead and get your propane account set up now so by the time we need it, you can just call and schedule it to be delivered. We will need propane in order for us to be able to proceed with drywall, paint & flooring. NDI will supply the heater but will need you to order a 100 gallon tank (not 100 pound) & have it delivered to the house as close to garage slab as possible (without touching the slab). A lot of our customers use Thompson Gas (703) 369-6400 but you are welcome to use any propane supplier of your choice. Again, just set up your account now and then I’ll let you know when to schedule it to be delivered. Let me know if you have any questions.
Frame walk. Mechanical Stage starts.
Today is Columbus day. My husband and I went to the house to have the frame walk. Our project manager Dennis is very nice and patient. He explained every questions we have. The frame walk lasted more than two hours. We are satisfied with the progress.
In the afternoon, we went to the granite company A&S, which located at 9834 Liberty Road Frederick, MD 21701, to choose our granite (Black Pearl) because Denis mentioned that even the same material, each lot looks different. It would be better to check the material and choose the one we like.
